Enviro-tips: Tips for a greener holiday

I wrote this at lunch and forgot to post:

• Use trimmed branches from your tree to decorate around your home and make wreaths.
• Change your lights to LEDs
• Use last year’s holiday cards as gift tags
• Use popcorn instead of Styrofoam peanuts for packaging

Note: There is some debate regarding whether an artificial tree is actually more environmentally friendly. Given the production of artificial trees vs. the tendency of farms to replant 3 CO2 absorbing trees to replace 1 for years before thinning them out AND the eventual disposal options, it may be better to buy a real tree. Finally, justification for my actions!
